In Paris, Evonik Industries AG, one of the world\u2019s leading companies in specialty chemicals, presented the new core material Rohacell at JEC World. <\/p>\n\n
The structural foam Rohacell is part of the Performance Foams product family. With its thermal stability, it is lightweight and easy to shape. The task for AMECKO, the trade fair stand builder from Oberhausen, was to produce an abstract turbine exhibit featuring elements made from the specialty material for the stand\u2019s setup and handling, thereby staging the product in a highly compelling way. <\/p>\n\n
The client\u2019s brief was developed in teamwork with interior architect Birgit Zittrich. \u201cOn the one hand, the exhibit is a monolith that, thanks to its impressive dimensions, serves as a CI-compliant eye-catcher; at the same time, it enables perfect product presentation,\u201d explains Karin Momkvist, Key Account Manager at the Oberhausen-based trade fair stand builder. It was also important to develop a shippable design for modular use of the 2.20-meter-high highlight. The exhibit was divided into three display sections, both thematically and physically. The bases were designed so that, for shipping, the individual segments can be moved precisely into the packaging units either with a pallet truck or a forklift\u2014an enormous logistical \u043e\u0431\u043b\u0435\u0433\u0447\u0435\u043d\u0438\u0435 for the installation team. <\/p>\n\n
Production and supervision were in the hands of AMECKO Managing Director Dirk Kretschmann and the Key Account Manager. In particular, the fitting of the five-axis CNC-milled Rohacell elements was closely monitored. Detailed workshop drawings and precise execution were essential for this. Using a supporting structure produced in parallel, the elements could be fitted precisely and accurately into the finished model. To avoid putting too much strain on the material at the event, one of the components\u2014the so-called \u201cnose\u201d\u2014was produced twice. It was then additionally displayed on a presentation stand to prevent wear on the turbine model. <\/p>\n\n
Beyond the exhibit itself, the Managing Director also had to ensure a smooth process from planning and handling through to return transport. \u201cThe magic trick worked. Despite the extremely short set-up and dismantling times\u2014dismantling took just 24 hours\u2014everything was completed just in time. In addition, we coordinated external trades, which, thanks to careful planning, posed no problem for us,\u201d says Dirk Kretschmann. <\/p>\n\n
At JEC, information and contacts could be exchanged on two levels. The two-storey stand offered space across two levels for a catering and back-office area as well as an inviting lounge area\u2014an oasis for visitors, perfect for a relaxed break or an easy conversation atmosphere in the midst of the trade fair bustle. <\/p>\n\n
After the successful conclusion of the event, the client provided very positive feedback to the AMECKO team regarding planning and implementation. \u201cWe are only satisfied when our customers are truly satisfied.
