No germs. No chance for multidrug-resistant pathogens,” informs the public about pathogens, antibiotic resistance, and infection prevention. As part of this initiative, a travelling exhibition tours clinics across NRW, with its structural implementation handled by AMECKO.

The agency KOMPAKTMEDIEN from Berlin provided the trade show specialists from Oberhausen with 2D concept scribbles, which they used to design the components. A total of three elements had to be realized within a short time: a freestanding “NO GERMS” logo lettering with full-surface graphics, and a hygiene column with a disinfectant dispenser and UV lamp to check hands after disinfection together form an exhibition set that AMECKO produced 12 times in identical form. An additional campaign logo lettering was produced specifically for use at the press conference for the exhibition series.

User-friendly, safe, cost-effective, and durable. Several factors were important for the realization: “Handling should be as simple as possible, so that no extensive training or assembly instructions are required for installation,” reports Karin Momkvist, Account and Sales Manager at AMECKO. The components were deliberately made from very lightweight material: “The lower the weight, the easier it is to set up the exhibition. In addition, this reduces logistics costs,” says Karin Momkvist. Since the information display is in most cases set up in hospital foyers—i.e., in public areas—it must, of course, meet all fire protection and visitor safety standards. All components of the lettering were fitted with magnets for easy yet stable assembly. This prevents the letters from toppling over if touched. And if someone does stumble into the lettering, it gives way, and due to their low weight the falling parts cannot injure anyone.

For stability reasons, the hygiene column was designed as a triangular pillar. Setting it up is also effortless: the two rear panels are connected with hinges and are simply unfolded and positioned. The front, with disinfectant dispenser, UV light, and brochure holders, is then hooked in. No installation training is required. Refilling the disinfectant and stocking brochures is usually handled personally by the hospital’s hygiene officer.

The logo lettering for the press conference was equipped with a reusable mechanism. This allowed the “M” in the word “GERMS” to be pressed down repeatedly by the participants at the main press conference in the Tonhalle Düsseldorf to form the original lettering “NO GERMS.”

The travelling exhibition stays at each hospital for around 10 to 15 days and has already stopped more than 200 times at clinics throughout NRW. And so it continues to tour the state to generate maximum attention for the hygiene initiative.

The nationwide hygiene initiative of hospitals in North Rhine-Westphalia, “Protect health together.
